Va-Birders: I'm going to FL in March for a long weekend. We will be near
Orlando. As a result of the Living Bird magazine we just got yesterday I'm
really interesting in getting to see some of the resident FL Whooping
Cranes. I didn't realize they were so close to Orlando. I looked up the
cranes in the ABA FL book and found out they are usually about 45 mins from
where we will be staying.
But of course on any given day they might be anywhere :-) Does anyone know
how you can find out how to find them? Is there a list server (like this
one) for FL I can tap in to? Or is there a local phone number I could call
once we get to Orlando to find out where we might go? I will be with some
non-birders so I don't think we could just wander around the whole day
poking our noses where we want. They will be more than thrilled to see the
birds but I don't think they would want to spend a whole day at it.
Please respond to me off the list with any suggestions you might have.
