While doing some errands at Sandbridge in Virginia Beach yesterday
(10/11/04) I saw a Eurasian Collared Dove sitting on a fence in front of
a house on the 2900 block of Little Island Road. It later flew west
along Sandbend Road. About 4 hours later I saw one (possibly the same
bird) just a few blocks away on a telephone wire on the 2800 block of
Sandpiper Road.
I also had about an hour to walk around Back Bay NWR. Lots of stuff was
moving around. Highlight was a nice Clay-colored Sparrow which was very
cooperative, perched out in the open on a bush by the east dike trail.
