Even though the Long-tailed ducks were not relocated, the activity south of the
Haul road tip was impressive with 284 Hooded Mergansers tallied, including
males performing courtship displays.
Four Common loons were also seen from the boardwalk along with Red-breasted
Mergs, Common Mergansers, Horned and Pied-billed grebes,Ruddy Ducks and nice
rafts of Bufflehead with males displaying.
Seven Canvasback were also diving in the vicinity.
