A few of us birded the Dulles Greenway Wetland Mitigation Project (DGWMP) from
Oatlands Mill Rd on Sat. morning before and after the Banshee Reeks bird walk
(previously reported by John Drummond). The best bird seen there was a single
Lincoln's Sparrow. While there were a lot of Mallards there wasn't that much
else in the way of interest. The waterfowl did include: Am Black Duck 4,
Mallard 100+, Green-winged Teal 10, Ring-necked Duck 1, and four Hooded
Mergansers. The DGWMP is immediately west of the Banshee Reeks Nature Preserve.
