Hello all
This morning when I opened up my e - mail & as I was scanning thru them I
noticed one from Rexanne Bruno about a Snow Bunting on Gunthrie Road ( Rt. 652
) . So after work I decided to go over & try to relocate this bird . Well not
only did I have a fly by Snow Bunting but I also had about 50 + Horned Lark &
mixed in this small flock I found at least 3 Lapland Longspur's . Also mixed in
were a few American Pipit's . The area that I saw these birds in is the open
fields where there is a graveled road that leads into the field on your left
going South on Rt. 652 . Up in the area of the barn I got to view about 5000
black birds . In this mix were about 50 % Common Grackle , 30 % Brown Headed
Blackbird , 15 % Starling , 2 & half % each of Redwinged Blackbird & Rusty
Blackbird . With all of those birds not a one had a yellow head .
Rexanne sorry you all missed the Barn Owl . Question Did you all go inside &
look up into the silo ? Also thanks for the tip on the Snow Bunting .
