Yesterday when passing Silver Lake Mill below the spillway, I noticed a
Black-crowned Night Heron standing in the water. I called home and told
Bethany to take the boys and cameras on a little "field trip." They found an
adult and a juvenile, and the boys got photos of one sitting in a tree. We
will be putting more photos online later, but one shot is posted at this
link for now.

Later in the evening when travelling north on Main Street in Dayton
approaching Eberly Road, I noticed a Black-crowned Night Heron flying above
the stream along the left side of the roadway.
