There are no Black-capped Chickadees at our feeders and we have not had any
reported in the northern Shenandoah Valley. Since the northern ones are staying
in Canada this winter I would suggest if anyone thinks they saw one at low
elevations to get a photograph and fill out a rare bird report on Virginia CBCs
this winter. Please send me a jpeg if you do get a photo. We have been scouting
for a Peru trip we are leading this summer but our son has kept the feeders
full. (If interested in Peru please email rsimpson@xxxxxxxx). When BCCH come
south for the winter they are usually here throughout November and stay the
entire winter. Our Northern Shenandoah Valley count is Saturday Dec. 16 and the
Luray/Shenandoah National Park CBC is Sunday, Dec 17. If interested email me
and I will forward to the appropriate compiler. Great counting to everyone –
