We ran the Big Meadows BBS Route Sunday June 17, 2007. This route starts at
the Mary’s Rock Tunnel Overlook and runs down the Rapidan Camp Road towards the
Hoover Camp.
Probably the best bird of the day was the Ruffed Grouse that was seen after the
count was finished so is not included in the count totals.
This count seemed about normal in numbers with good showings of Red eyed
Vireos, Verry, Wood Thursh, Eastern Towhees, Indigo Bunting and good numbers of
Warblers here also. New to the list is Canada Warbler.
