Hello everyone,
I visited the Amherst Co. Lakes yesterday during the rain after work. I was
hoping for some gulls and maybe terns. There was one Ring Billed Gull at
Mill Creek Lake. There was Double-crested Cormorants (11), Spotted Sand-
pipers (6), and Dunlin (1) in breeding plumage. That was a first for me at the
lakes. He was awesome looking. I watched him for 20 minutes through my
scope. If anyone is interested in looking for him he was at the point at the
big rock in the water.
Directions to the Lake: Go to the traffic circle in Amherst. Go Rt. 60
towards
Buena Vista for about 6 miles turn right. There is a sigh for the lakes. Go
about
3 miles turn right. There is a sigh for Mill Creek Lake. Go about 1 mile turn
left. Lake is at end of road. To get to other lakes. Go out to main road take a
right. Go just around the turn. Turn left then follow signs.
