Happy Thanksgiving,
I visited the lakes in Amherst Co. yesterday 11-22-05 at 8:30AM.
At Mill Creek Lake there were 65 Common Loons which was a high
count for this area. They stayed for 45 min. and then they started to
take off. It was an awesome sight to see that many in flight. There was
also 8 Red Breasted Mergansers, 1 Bonaparte's Gull, 8 Gadwall, 11
Green Winged Teal and 26 Ruddy Duck. I checked this morning and
there was no sigh of Loons. The other 2 lakes had nothing. I am going
to check the lakes tomorrow morning.
