Nursing Home Visits
New York state officials detailed new guidelines and rules for nursing home
visitations starting today. On-site rapid COVID-19 testing of guests will be
used, though the previous rule of barring guests from nursing homes that have
had a COVID case within 14 days remains in effect. We will still be working on
the pending legislation to get essential visitors in without these
restrictions. |

Special Enrollment Period:
- Medicare General Enrollment Period for people who missed their Initial
Enrollment Period (IEP) and need to enroll in Medicare Part A or B. (coverage
starts July 1)
- Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period, for people in Medicare
Advantage plans who want to change their coverage. (change is effective on the
1st of the month following the month of enrollment.)
- Both Enrollment periods run January 1 - March 31.
