effective at preventing COVID. The results come from a CDC study that tracked
nearly 4,000 essential workers during the first months of vaccine rollout. Both
vaccines were 90 percent effective, which is consistent with the efficacy rates
reported in clinical trials. The study also suggests that the first dose of
either vaccine is 80 percent effective at preventing infections after two
weeks. Of the patients who got COVID, only 23 percent needed medical care, two
