He had been running for what seemed like hours trough this dense forest
and had several scrapes and bruises, but he couldn't stop. Somewhere in front
off him always on the verge of being out of his reach were Jem Hadar agents
escaping with one of the crewmates who's life he had sworn to protect. He knew
he was probably running into a trap but he didn't care. His life should have
been forfeit in the skirmish that ensued when the away team was ambushed.

His security team had trained long and hard for situations like this but
when it was all said and done he was the only one left standing when the 2
surviving Jem Hadar began their escape with the redheaded scientist. Sara would
never forgive him if he didn't save her, but worse still he would never forgive
himself. So he ran on and on, but eventually he began to close in on them due
to his extreme training and being in peak physical condition. When he was
less than a few yards away they entered a clearing that lasted for a few feet
but
at the end of a clearing there was a sheer 100 ft drop. The two agents
started at him and the at each other; then rather then getting caught they
trough
first the body and then themselves over the cliff. He couldn't get there in
time
to stop them, or to catch her. He just watched her fall. He feel to his knees
in terror and began to scream. He never saw her hit the ground.

Joe sat up in his bed drenched in sweat, his covers were pretty wet as
well, he looked around disoriented and realized he was in his quarters, not in
a
tropical rain forest.

    "Just another nightmare."

He had been having a lot of those lately; in fact that's why he had had a
hangover the morning he and Josh had had that interesting talk. He wasn't
much of a drinker but the real alcohol he still had under his bed helped him
get
back to sleep after he woke up in the middle of the night. Most of his
nightmares follow the same line of the one he had just had, him failing to
protect
the lives of his fellow crewmembers and someone actually dying not just being
injured.

He really hadn't told anyone about his nightmares because they hadn't
been that bad at first. But when they started to get really bad he didn't want
to
burden anyone else with them. Victor had a lot on his mind what with the
captain being off the ship and he being in charge so he didn't want to bother
him.
He had briefly considered talking to Josh about it, but then realized that
until recently Josh hadn't been much of the talking type and now that he was he
might be getting trough to him he didn't want to ruin it by sharing what was
bothering him The only other person on the ship he might talk to was Sara but
between her duties in Medical and spending time with Cyanah her time was
already stretched pretty thin. Hopefully this thing would just go away with
time, it
had better because if it didn't his last resort was to talk to the counselor
and THAT was something he didn't want to do.
