As the subject line indicates that the Shredder Chess app is being discussed, where are these books? I don't find them in the app. Thanks.

If you think you're finished, you! really! are! finished!!

Hi,
All positions are in FEN format. How you view the positions depends on whether you have a phone or an
IPod, and whether your device is in portrait or landscape mode. The representitive from the company told me that they made sure that positions were in FEN.

Any idea why all the moves are marked as a link? Tried to click on them but anything happened. i assume that it brings some sort of visual board for sighted people?

I am planning buying the book winning chess tactics. From what I know from this book, it has several positions. Any ideas if the positions are presented in fen format?

The examples that come with the app I could not find a position described, they all start from the initial position and follow from there with algebraic notation.

Hello,

Yes, they are very aware of voiceover. I was in contact with them. They told me they especially targeted voiceover users on purpose.

Thanks.

This is fantastic, I did not know about the chess viewer app. I have been trying to get my hands in any accessible material about chess with no success.

Just downloaded the app and I am just experimenting some books that they have there. Probably will buy some.

Are they aware of voiceover? the app is very accessible, and I wish that it stays that way!

Hi Evan,
Shredder automatically reads the opponent's move when you make your
move. You can also see the last move your opponent made by taking your
finger and dragging it along the right edge of the screen under the
display of the board. When you get the app, schedule a Skype call with
me. I'll walk you through it if you have trouble. I also would
recommend that if you want to play on the Free Internet Chess Server,
pay the few dollars and get ChessWise. And if you want to choose from
over 200 chess books to read on your device, get the app called Chess
Viewer. You can then purchase fully accessible chess books that
include FEN diagrams from the well known chess publisher Everyman
Chess. The books range in price from under seven dollars to thirty
dollars. Most books are between ten and twenty dollars. Unfortunately,
though, with ChessWise, if you want to add friends on the Free
Internet Server, I've only been able to do that through WinBoard, but
it only takes a few seconds to add a friend to your friends list, and
ChessWise will tell you if they come online.

Thanks.

Hey Guys,
I know that some of you use Shredder. I just got a new iPad Mini 4 last
week, and I was reading about the Shredder app. I’m really looking forward
to trying it out. It looks like it’s fully accessible, but I read that the
only problem with it is that the computer doesn’t read its most recent move.
You have to go down the list of moves to see the last move it made. Is this
still the case? I’m going to get the app soon anyway. I was just wondering
if that had been fixed.
Thanks much.
Evan
