Hi David,
We're in the northeast part of the city too, on Vandike Street, if you've heard of it.

I'll have to check out the Web site you mentioned, and see how accessible it is, or how easy it is to make it that way. Any others similar?

I don't know anything about openings yet, but I've gotten the moves for each piece down okay, so maybe that's my next step. right now I just pick a random pawn to start the game, but I suppose there are ertain strategies to start off in a better position than just random choice.

I do have Skype, if anyone wants to add me, though I've not logged on in a while. Last time I did, most of my contacts had disappeared, the the whole interface looked different. I suppose I should look for scripts for Jaws or something. At any rate, if anyone wants to add me, my user name is misswings1981. At least I think that's it. It's either that, or just misswings. I need to see if I can find out where that's disaplayed, so I'll remember it for sure myself.

Hi, Jess.

What part of Philly are you and your boyfriend living in? For a few
years, I lived in the northeast part of the city, up off the Boulevard
and Welsh on a little street called Old Bustleton. My wife and I live
here in Fort Wayne, IN which great since I grew up a Hoosier. So chess
and basketball are, well, big-time passions for me.

Great to have you aboard this list.

Feel free to ask any questions you want regarding strategies,
openings, and so forth. A lot of us on here play one another via
Skype, in tournaments and friendly games. Some of us play via email.

There are a bunch of us playing on some chess websites that have
adapted settings for the blind player such as Lichess.org. Truly, it's
the most exciting game ever, right up there with basketball.
