my advice would bbe to record your sessions if that is agreeable with your
coach. after A year further down the line don't be surprised if you forget
things like the Lucena or Phililidor position which one tends to have to
revise every year or so lest one forgets the techhniques used for these
positions. So if you have all the material saved on the coachihng lesson you
can go through it again by yourself and repeat the exercise.
I would also suggest a brief look at King and pawn endigs, study a white
opening you enjoy and a black opening response to 1 d4 and 1 e4 that you
feel comfortable playing.
Its also a good idea to record the FEN for a position you are studying with
your coach to ensure that you have the correct position in case pieces get
moved accidently.

I know that in this list we have some very experienced players. I was
wondering if you ever coached a blind person before vs a sighted person
and if you noticed things that the blind must focus more on their study
that the sighted do not, or vice versa.
I am asking this because a friend kindly offered himself to help me
improve my chess skills and we are meeting each week on skype to discuss
my games, analyze positions and he also prepares a set of tactics for
me to solve.
In the end, this may be a stupid question. Maybe this is just all the
same, but it does not hurt asking :)
I came up with a study plan for myself, but was also interested in
listening what worked good for you, if you ever were coached before.
Plus question, is there any blind master that gives chess lessons? This
is just out of curiosity.
