Steve,

Did you get our Monarch sighting and Monarch egg sighting? I have pics of the eggs - the people at Journey North graciously asked for copies after I reported the sighting. Becky Collins, teacher at David Lipscomb with a butterfly garden, have a friendly competition each year to see who sights what first. This year, she won the milkweed, Owl's Hill took the first adult Monarch and Monarch eggs.

Hello to all,

The university email server has about 100,000 messages that have gone
undelivered on campus since late last week; not sure when or even if I
will get these, so if you sent stuff that involved FOY records or BAMONA
records, you might want to resend that stuff to make sure I get it;
seems like I am getting everything coming in this morning, but not stuff
that was sent from late last week through the week-end. Sorry for this
problem.

I do get TN-Butterflies at home and can forward from there tonight if I
need to; Bart Jones in particular had some Decatur County records that I
can do that for if Bart would rather that be the way I handle his
records, but I do not specifically recall any other FOY or BAMONA
records from the week-end.

On Sunday, April 12, Marilyn Burgess and I observed several Gemmed Satyrs and a Painted Lady (county record if I had a shot) at Buckner City Park in Dickson. The Red-shouldered hawk is again incubating eggs in the nest nearby her house in Dickson.

I forgot to send a message about a butterfly trip I made to Moore County
last week. I just want to let anyone from that county or that area know
that I was able to obtain photos of 8 species in Moore County that day;
these are the first BAMONA records for Moore County.

The eight species I photographed in Moore County April 9, 2009, follow:

Pipevine Swallowtail

Zebra Swallowtail

Eastern Tiger Swallowtail

Checkered White

Falcate Orangetip

Clouded Sulphur

Monarch

Painted Lady

There are now just FOUR counties in TN without at least one butterfly
record at BAMONA: Crockett, Gibson, Giles, and Weakley. Hope that a few
records can be obtained for each of these this year.

Good butterfly counting, Steve Stedman

Thanks so much Larry for the help with the ID of the moth. I thought
it was so pretty and I hope it can be added to the BAMONA list for
Cannon County. Has anyone else seen this one?

My grandson brought this beauty over for me to see. I have been
looking in the book and am looking at Curved-toothed Geometer, plate
55 in Covell. I will be glad for any help.
