One of our Trail Guides forwarded this to me; looks like it might be
interesting and the Community Room at REI is a great place to meet. Our
chapter of NABA meets there - easy to find near restaurants and plenty of
comfortable space.

This is a reminder that the NTOS meeting will be in a different location for
the April meeting only. The NTOS meeting will begin at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday,
April 16 in the community room at the Recreational Equipment Inc (REI) store.
It is located at 261 Franklin Road, Brentwood, TN, about 0.5 mile south of Old
Hickory Blvd just south of the Fresh Food Market. We appreciate REI's
accommodations for this meeting, courtesy of REI Manager Chuck Robinson. We
look forward to the following program:

NTOS Program, April 16, 2009. Tonya Van Hook, PhD., Research Biologist,
Sweet Briar College
Monarch butterflies: The migratory wonders of the insect world

The well-known monarch is perhaps the most-studied and best-loved butterfly
in North America. It is also the longest-distance migratory insect known to
man. Tonya will give a slide presentation on the monarch butterfly's life
history, focusing on similarities and differences between monarch and bird
adaptations for migration. She will discuss monarch conservation concerns and
how you might get involved.
