July 19, 2009. Kentucky Manor, 5211 Kentucky Avenue, Nashville, Davidson
County, TN

The Silver-spotted Skipper has been the only species at the Manor this
season that I missed its picture. That omission was filled today. A nice
individual fed on zinnias for a photo op. Also on zinnias was a Monarch. The
last Monarch at the Manor was on April 27 though there was one in the
neighborhood a few days after that. That is an absence of around eleven
weeks. There are several Butterfly Weed plants (less than a foot) in bloom
and one 7" high Common Milkweed, but did not see it go to either. Maybe
tomorrow.
