Google Earth can be used to present results from butterflying trips, too. Attached is an experimental kml file I created after a trip to Grainger County last summer. (kml files are opened by Google Earth in the same way that html files are opened by Internet Explorer, so you won't be able to use this file unless you have Google Earth installed.) This kml file shows the locations of the butterflies found, and the placemarks have links to the actual images from that trip. Click on the photo thumbnails to go to photobucket for full-size photos. You can also open this example kml file with any text editor to take a look at the syntax of the language, if you're interested. I would recommend that anyone with a highspeed connection download the program and take a look around. It's a lot of fun! http://earth.google.com/ My area was just added to Google Street View although their system for finding addresses has some problems. If you search my true address, you'll end up a few miles away but if you use this address, 7632 Tennessee 200, Beech Bluff, TN 38313 you'll end up at the end of my driveway. The street name, address, city and zip code are all wrong but for some reason it works. Ken Childs Henderson, TN Chester County http://www.finishflagfarms.com
