I believe that today I saw the baddest butterfly in Chester County. A Male
Sachem was relentless in his pursuit of a male Common Whitetail Dragonfly. I've
seen butterflies make half-hearted attacks on just about anything that flew
past their perch but I've never seen one chase anything but another butterfly
in this way. It was a solid 15 second chase!
