July 18, 2009. Kentucky Manor, 5211 Kentucky Avenue, Nashville, Davidson County, TN 360934N (36.15944) and 0865102W (-86.85055) Another Bell's Roadside-Skipper enjoyed dinner at the Manor on July 18. I sat with this individual for twenty minutes starting at 5:10 p.m. while it enjoyed impatiens and left it still nectaring. It was not as sharply marked at the one on July 13-14. For comparison see emails of July 14; BAMONA image by John Froeschauer, http://www.butterfliesandmoths.org/species?l=2162 <http://www.butterfliesandmoths.org/species?l=2162&chosen_state=48*Texas> &chosen_state=48*Texas; and Arkansas images, http://www.hr-rna.com/RNA/Main%20pages/Skipper%20frame%20page.htm (click on the Bell's picture box at the top of the left column). I am not awareof sex diffeences. The Arkansas site mentions that Bell's likes "to perch on leaf tops...," as this one did and looking back the other did also. It did not open its wings.
