[TN-Bird] east Tenn field trip announcements

east Tennessee...Knox and Campbell Counties
(for those who wonder why I put this info here...remember that messages on 
this listserve are seen by birders from anywhere in the world. Many will not 
know the names of places listed here, so a bit more info is helpful.
Imagine if you are going on a trip to another state and you want to see what 
people are currently seeing there. Try looking at the state's listserve (go to 
birdingonthe.net) - you'll see lots of references to local birding places, 
towns, and counties. You'll spend a lot of time looking at a map trying to 
find out if the place mentioned is anywhere near where you will be.
So I like to include the part of the state to which the post relates)

The Knoxville Chapter of the Tennessee Ornithological Society announces the 
following field trips for this coming weekend:

Saturday, May 20, 8:00 a.m.
Field trip to Seven Islands WMA
Leader: David Trently 865-974-8664 (day); 865-531-1473 (eve); dtrently@xxxxxxx
Meet at the Comcast parking lot on Asheville Highway just north of I-40 (Exit 
394) at 8:00 a.m. or at Seven Islands parking lot at 8:15 a.m. Seven Islands 
is primarily a grassland habitat. The days list will likely include Common 
Yellowthroat, Yellow-breasted Chat, Prothonotary Warbler, Summer Tanager, 
Orchard Oriole, Grasshopper, Field and Song Sparrows, Indigo Bunting and Blue 
Grosbeak. Other possibilities include Bald Eagle, Willow Flycatcher and 
Baltimore oriole. If the weather is decent, fifty plus species are reasonable 
to expect.

Sunday, May 21, 8:00 a.m.
Field trip to Cove Lake State Park and Cross Mountain
Leader: Chuck Nicholson 865-405-7948
Meet at Cove Lake at 8:00 a.m. ($3 parking fee) This is off I-75 Exit 134, 
just east of the interstate.
Just a few of the warblers we can hope for include Golden-winged, Cerulean, 
Prothonotary, Swainson's, Worm-eating, Kentucky.
