TN-birders, As the state bird count compiler, I have already made a list of the highest total for most of the species we see here in Tennessee. By this I mean, I searched for the highest total for a species (say, American Robin) seen in a dedicated survey (or bird count, or a day of birding in a restricted area). I did this so I could relay that information to the general public when I do the count summaries, be it the Spring, Fall or Christmas bird counts. So.....I would like to hear what the highest total for Chickamauga Lake was today. So far, from what I have read on TN-bird, it was approximately 100. My previous high total for WW Scoter was 28, in 1981! This was also Chickamauga Lake! Must be something in the water! Please post what you folks down there come up with for a total. I will update my ever-changing list! Thanks and great birding, Ron Hoff President / state bird count compiler Tennessee Ornithological Society 282 Hackworth Ln.
