While at the Loudoun Dam banding tree swallows this a.m., I happened to look up and there was a lone WHITE PELICAN. It drifted upstream a bit, but last I saw of it, it was headed downstream again. On my way out a couple of hours later I scanned briefly below the dam, but no sign of it. I assume they show up now and then? but it's the first one I've noticed.
