Walter S. Davis Blvd marsh Davidson Co. Nashville, TN 2010 July 22 7:30-7:45 am clear, warm Yesterday on my way to work at TSU I stopped at the Walter S. Davis Blvd marsh, which is behind the TSU campus. The small lake there is drying up and I spotted what I thought was a SOLITARY SANDPIPER probing the mud, but could not be sure with my binoculars, it was just too far away. This morning I stopped by our flood ravaged, but currently being rebuilt, house to collect my spotting scope, one of the few birding things that survivied the flood. With it I again stopped at the marsh this Thurdsay morning. Water in the tiny lake had gone down substantially from yesterday, exposing more mud. With the scope I was able to confirm that in addition to 11 KILLDEER, there was a single SOLITARY SANDPIPER, as well as 2 LEAST SANDPIPERs. Keep the shorebirds coming.
