Went to Walker Springs Park (Knox Co.) tues w/ my niece to walk and let her play from 11:30-12:45. We went on the left fork of the path that crosses over the creek w/ the small bridge. From the bridge and just past I saw a Chestnut-Sided Warbler, Magnolia Warbler, and a Hummingbird(R.Thr. I assume). I saw 2 Indigo Buntings in seperate open areas of the park also. About 100 yrds or so down the path past the bridge was the 1st hawk's nest I've ever seen and it is occupied. It is on the left side of the path towards the top of what I think is a type of Maple. There are 2 of these trees about the same height standing side-by-side. I didn't see the hawk at first but then it appeared. I'm not sure what kind it is or if it was adult or juv.--I saw a plain whitish upper breast and what appeared to be a grayish crown. It was hard to tell looking up at it. I have seen accipiters in the park before. If anyone else knows or finds out what species it is please let me know.
