Friends, While in Nashville over the weekend, my wife and I took the opportunity to visit Radnor Lake State Park on Saturday morning (7/4/2009) for some birding. Radnor Lake is in south Nashville (Davidson county) and contains an 85 acre lake with excellent trails. One trail circles the lake which is the one we took. We had hoped to see an eagle or perhaps some shore birds, but those were not present. We did see a variety of songbirds and some woodpeckers. The exciting find was a Louisianna Waterthrush, a life bird for both of us. It was feeding on the spillway near the Lake Trail and allowed us to observe it closely for more than five minutes. We also saw several deer including one also near the trail. We enjoyed our time at Radnor Lake and will definitely include it on our schedule when we go to Nashville in the future. Happy birding, Mitchell and Nancy Kent Chattanooga, TN =================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBER===================== The TN-Bird Net requires you to SIGN YOUR MESSAGE with first and last name, CITY (TOWN) and state abbreviation.
