[TN-Bird] TOS Winter Meeting

The TOS winter meeting will be held in Paris, TN January 27 to 29, 2012. The
resort at the state park has finally released rooms that were previously
reserved for another organization. This is a less expensive option than area
motels and provides birding opportunities on the grounds. Reservations can be
made by calling 1-800-250-8614. Field trips on Saturday the 28th will still
depart from the Hampton Inn, 1510 Hwy 79 in Paris, at 7:00 AM. We’ll arrive at
the Exxon mini-mart (13700 Hwy 69A) in Big Sandy at 7:30 to meet folks who
choose to drive up that morning. We’ll proceed to the Big Sandy peninsula
(Tennessee NWR) and out to Pace Point. After lunch, we’ll bird our way back to
the state park, stopping at Britton Ford, Antioch Harbor and Eagle Cove, as
well as areas around Paris Landing. Target species include: loons, grebes,
diving ducks, gulls and raptors. Please contact me off line for questions or
