There are currently 20+ Bobolinks in an overgrown field along Drakes Creek Rd,
1.8 miles north of S.R. 386 in north Hendersonville. The field is on the back
edge of a new housing development that is currently under construction called
Durham Farms. The road veers sharply left right at the main entrance to the
subdivision, and the field is another .5 miles past here on the right side of
the road. They were easily heard from the road, but I pulled into the new
neighborhood in order to stop and observe them...since it's Sunday, no workers
were present; I don't know about being able to get in there during the week or
how much longer this field will be around given the pace of work being done.
