Standifer Gap Marsh, Chattanooga, Hamilton Co., TN April 15, 11:00 - 12:00 AM Virginia Rail: Two Virginias chased each other back and forth, flying very low and perhaps running some, very fast. Length of the flights was about 50 feet, and they were about 50 feet from the gravel road, flying parallel to it. They paid no attention to me and perhaps didn't even notice me for several minutes. They made a sound I haven't heard before, something like a Red-Shouldered Hawk, loud and frequent. What lovers won't do!
