Standifer Gap Marsh, Chattanooga, Hamilton Co, TN November 17, 2003, BARN OWL, about 10:30 AM, flushed from a pine tree at the edge of the woods. At the north end of the marsh a gravel road crosses the marsh and ends in a turn-around. From the turn-around a path leads thru the woods to a home which may be part of Precept Ministries. Cut trees close off the marsh end of the path, but it is easy to get around them. Snow Goose: 1 white form and 3 dark forms, down from 4 white and 3 dark yesterday. Virginia Rail: heard 5+ at 4 locations and saw one cross a small inlet Sora: One whistle note that sounds like Sora to me.
