Actually, according to the Operation Migration website
(www.operationmigration.org), the two Whooping Cranes at Hiwassee
are 1-02 (or #201 depending on their notation) and 7-01 (or #107).

1-02, which I suspect is the bird Ken saw, would be bird #1 from
last year's (2002) flight, a female by the way. The second bird
has a broken or lost radio tag but, by process of elimination,
has been determined to be 7-01, a female from the first year's
flight (2001).

Bird 1-01 from the 2001 flight has already arrived at the wintering
grounds in Florida (on 15 November).

According to the latest update on the site (which is highly recommended)
of the 20 surviving birds from the previous two years of flights,
3 arrived in Florida on 15 November, 2 are at Hiwassee, 13 are in
Indiana, 1 is in Illinois, and 1 is still in Wisconsin.
