I birded Wal-Mart Distribution Center (Midway, Greene County) for about an hour and a half this afternoon--the first time I've visited the site lately--and was not disappointed. Highlights were: Green-winged Teal (2, first of the season); Blue-winged Teal (3); Northern Pintail (first of the season); Northern Harrier (first of the season); Sora (first of the season); Common Snipe; Palm Warbler. Also present at WMDC and nearby on Payne Road were the following butterflies: Black Swallowtail; Clouded Sulphur; Cloudless Sulphur; Orange Sulphur; Sleepy Orange; Gulf Fritillary (5+); Variegated Fritillary; Great Spangled Fritillary; Pearl Crescent; Common Buckeye; Viceroy; Monarch; Common Checkered-Skipper.
