I posted some pics of the owl on my SmugMug page (http://csloan.smugmug.com). I believe this bird is an immature and likely a male. The downside is that the reason I was able to get the flight shots is because some birders were a bit overzealous in trying to follow it around when it dropped down lower into the highway interchange, and flushed it up. This bird is very skittish, even from 100+ meters away. Folks, if you are driving through the interchange and see the owl, please do the other birders the courtesy of NOT stopping your car right next to it. Just drive around to wherever everyone else is set up. Twice in the first 10 minutes this morning, people pulled their car up beside it and flushed it, and in both instances it moved somewhere else that wasn't visible from where everyone was set up. This bird is likely going to be in the area for a few days, so please be patient and respectful of your fellow birders.
