It was a chilly morning riding around in golf carts at The Honors Course in
Ooltewah but the birding was really good. Below is a list of the birds seen
and/or heard. Some highlights included seeing all 7 woodpecker species, both
Kinglets, 2 adult Bald Eagles taking fish to the nest, a Wilson's Snipe that
seems to have spent the winter here, seven sparrow species, 10 Meadowlarks and
many Yellow-rumped Warblers (I think some had just migrated in).
Birders included: Clyde Blum, Kent Pennington, Gary Brunvoll, Cathy Lockwitz,
Fletcher Sims, David & Pat Goldsmith and David Stone.
