[TN-Bird] Sightings Report 28 & 30 April, Stiles Wastewater Treatment Plant, Memphis, Shelby Cty

Location:     TN, Stiles Wastewater Treatment Plant
Observation date:     4/30/09

Notes:     Another lunch time run at the North Treatment plant. Black-necked
stilts are in good numbers and have staked out nest areas. Several seem to
be sitting on eggs. Crazy weather has birds up and down the property to the
river.

Blue-winged Teal     10

Killdeer     18

Black-necked Stilt     58

Solitary Sandpiper     6

Lesser Yellowlegs     16

Least Sandpiper     6

Pectoral Sandpiper     7

Rock Pigeon     15

Mourning Dove     2

Barn Swallow     25+

Northern Mockingbird     2

European Starling     50+

Savannah Sparrow     7

Dickcissel     8

Red-winged Blackbird     50+

Eastern Meadowlark     6

Common Grackle     7

Observation date:     4/28/09

Notes:     Blk-necked Stilts still growing in numbers and sitting on nests.
Chasing other birds away regulary. Geese and Mallards also have set nests.
Killdeer and thier bare nests are throughout the gravel paths.
