Just this moment, as I was reading my E-mail, a screech owl started "talking
to me" from the holly bush/tree which is outside my bedroom window and near my
office window in the next room. It is the bird's favorite perch in my yard,
and a screech was first "flushed" from there one day about ten years ago when
my lawn mowing man got too close for comfort with his equipment.
