I spent 8:30 til 9:45pm driving and walking around in the Newfound Gap and Clingman's Dome areas of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, producing: Northern Saw-whet Owl - 2 I stopped to get out of my car at five or six sites and heard birds singing at two sites. One was at the Indian Gap parking lot and the other was about a mile short of the Clingman's Dome parking lot. Weather conditions were perfect; a faint haze in the sky and a half moon, with only a faint breeze.
