The temperature is in the high 30's this morning and Willie is feeding at a leisurely pace. He flashed into the light at 6:32 a.m. for his checking sip and then only came two more times in the first five minutes. After his initial visit to the feeder he went down and hovered by his sunny day perch in the bare bush to the left but decided not to sit as it was still pretty dark except for the light from the heat lamp. He probably won't spend much time at that perch today since the prediction is for overcast skies and possibly rain in the afternoon hours. I wonder if he recalls the warm and sunny days of Arizona and wonders what has gone so terribly wrong with the weather.
