[TN-Bird] Re: Rough-legged Hawk, Sandhill Crane (Greene Co., TN)

Ginger Goolsby and I were at the Joachim Bible Refuge in Greene County Sunday,
April 3, from about 5:45 until after sunset. Ginger wanted to try again for
the Short-eared Owl and was kind enough to help me locate the Rough-legged Hawk
that she had seen there twice. I had driven up on my own a couple weeks ago
and did not find it. We did find the hawk at the place where it has usually
been seen - the fields off S. Mohawk Road just north of Murray Bridge Road. We
didn't see it at first but on our second pass got a quick look at it flying low
over the fields. We eventually saw it several more times. Sometimes flying
high over the trees across the refuge above a silo and sometimes much closer
flying low over the fields. A beautiful hawk, a life bird for me. We left
around 7:15 to try for the owl which unfortunately we did not find.
