I finally finished compiling the results for the National Migration
Count for Hamilton County held on May 10. 141 species were found by 27
participants (a great number) on a nice weather day. Highlights
included:

32 species of warblers:

- 1 Connecticut and one Mourning at Greenway Farms

- 1 Mourning and one Black-throated Blue at Cravens House

Brainard Levee:

- 1 Peregrine made a pass at the shorebirds, only second I have
ever seen at the levee

- 1 Bank Swallow

- 6 Bobolinks

- 1 Marsh Wren

Standifer Gap Marsh

- 6 Long-billed Dowitchers (10 species of shorebirds for the
count)

- 1 Gadwall

- 6 Blue-winged teal

Rest of County:

- 1 Northern Harrier

- 1 Olive-sided Flycatcher at Cravens

- 39 Forster's Terns on the Tennessee River

Low lights

- no Yellow-billed Cuckoo

- no egrets and Herons besides Great Blue and Green (saw three
Yellow-crowned Night Herons the next week)

- no Least Bitterns or Virginia Rails at Standifer Gap, the
cattails were high and dry

Once again I want to thank all of the participants for a great count!!
