I just wanted to update everyone on the results of the last round of documentation reviewed by the Tennessee Bird Records Committee. As I hope you know our job is to review submitted documentation, discuss and vote on it, and update and maintain the Official List of the Birds of Tennessee. Don't forget you can see the list, download documentation forms, see our bylaws, etc. on the TBRC section of the state TOS website. I also want to thank everyone who has submitted documentation, I know it is not everyone's favorite task, but it is a very important one. We are still somewhat back logged with records, but be assured we are working on them. Here are the results of our last round of voting: Cave Swallow Rick Knight. Sullivan County, 11/7/12 Accepted (6-0) Good written documentation This bird is a first accepted state record placed on the Provisional category on the "Official List of the Birds of Tennessee" because it was accepted by the committee but was just written documentation from a single observer. The state list is now at 409 with the addition of the Cave Swallow. Gyrfalcon: Submitted by Gwynn Evans in Knox County, 1/2/13 Unaccepted (0-6) Committee felt documentation did not eliminate other species. Harris Sparrow: Bill Pulliam in Maury County 12/29/12 Accepted (6-0) Good photos and documentation.
