Jan Shaw and I birded today at and around Reelfoot lake in northwest Tn. The bird that generated the most excitment would be a Bell's Vireo. We had close looks at this little guy as he worked his territory, all the while singing his buzzy song. Thanks to Mike Todd for the directions that put us right on this bird. A Dunlin and Black-bellied Plover, both in alternate plumage, are good memories. As was a Mississippi Kite, circling directly over head. In some areas Dickcissels are so numerous that one is constantly singing. Reelfoot-what a place! Go see it. Gary Casey Kingston Springs, Tn. Talk and walk softly, carry a big scope. =================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBER===================== The TN-Bird Net requires you to sign your messages with first and last name, city (town) and state abbreviation. ----------------------------------------------------- To post to this mailing list, simply send email to: tn-bird@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx ----------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, send email to: tn-bird-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the Subject field. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Topographical Maps located at http://topozone.com/find.asp * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Visit the Tennessee Ornithological Society web site at http://www.tnbirds.org * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * TN-Bird Net Owner: Wallace Coffey, Bristol, TN jwcoffey@xxxxxxxxxx (423) 764-3958 =========================================================
