Nine Red-necked Grebes were still present in the Flat Creek area of Douglas Lake this afternoon at 2:30 pm. Not sure if they are the same ones as reported last week, but there are nine. I found an easier access to view the birds. Go to the end of Allensville Road, take the TVA boat access, drive about 1 mile down to the lake on a gravel/rock roadbed and at the lake edge, this will put you within easy bino range, maybe even closer of the grebes.
