All,
Apologies for the run of garbled posts regarding this subject. For some reason
I canâ??t get an email from my phone to post correctly to TNBirds, even trying
a couple of different routes. Will look into this further.

But, just wanting to say that I would also be very appreciative of any status
updates on this bird, positive or negative. I may try for it in the morning, if
I can find the gumption to do it........If anyone does have it early, I would
appreciate a call if possible, as I will (possibly) be coming from the far end
of the state. 731 676-0889.

I got out today for the first time in a few months, after my Mom passing away
last week from battling brain cancer for the last few months.

Water levels at Reelfoot and the MS River were very impressive, though not to
the people with homes flooded already. Looked like our buddy Nancy Moore had
water lapping at her feet.....

Bird wise, the highlights were at the flooded entrance to Walnut Log in Obion
Co, where a Black-billed Cuckoo sat out in the open on a stick over some
flooded grass for several minutes. This was the first Iâ??ve seen in several
years, first photographed, and certainly the first within 20 feet of an American
Bittern foraging in the same area. Not much in the way of warblers today,
except Swainsonâ??s singing on the way into Walnut Log as well.

Shorebirds were scattered all around the flooded areas, but all Yellowlegs,
Solitaries, and Spotted, with a few Pecs as well. Only birds of note were 2
Wilsonâ??s Phalaropes at the huge flooded area of Mud Lake. Only terns were a
Caspian and 2 Forsterâ??s in the same area.

Will post a few photos later at some point.

Good birding,

Mike Todd
