This afternoon, Wednesday, May 4 at Standifer Gap Marsh in Hamilton County, at 
least seven people saw the continuing Purple Gallinule with brief views from 
4:30 p.m. until after 5:00.  It stayed in the previously reported area midway 
between the Wood Duck house and the gravel road, on the north side of the road. 
 For a couple of minutes, it preened in the open.
At 5:35, the Common Moorhen was spotted in the growth at the bank on the north 
side of the road.  It then flew northeast to the greenery at the rear of the 
open water area.
