J. Percy Priest Lake
Seven Points Rec. Area
Davidson Co., TN
2018 Feb. 3

Went with Phillip Casteel and Mike Smith this Saturday morning
to check out several stops around J. Percy Priest Lake. Best stop
was at Seven Points Rec. Area where there was a very nice
large raft of ducks and mergansers with 12 species in total.
Had an impressive number of scaup, about 100 in all, and to our
surprise about half were GREATER SCAUP and half LESSER SCAUP.
In addition there were 6 REDHEADs, 16 CANVASBACK, over 40 COMMON
GOLDENEYE, and at least 25 RED-BREASTED MERGANSERs. Loon numbers
were nearly 100 at 2 different stops around the lake, but we
could not find either of the rarer loons.
