Old Harding Road
Davidson Co.
Nashville, TN

Returning from church on Sunday I approached my house in Bellevue,
which overlooks the Harpeth River. As I neared the intersection of Old
Harding and Sawyer Brown Road, I saw a large bird soaring low, and had a
feeling it might not be the usual vultures or even a Red-tailed Hawk.
Sure enough, when I stopped at a red light, the underwing pattern and
head clearly identified it as an Osprey. Only a couple tenths of
a mile from my abode, I tried to get home as quickly as possible
to add it to my yard list, but it disappeared upriver before I
made it to my postage-stamp sized property. A nice spring sighting
nevertheless.
