Old Harding Road Davidson Co. Nashville, TN Returning from church on Sunday I approached my house in Bellevue, which overlooks the Harpeth River. As I neared the intersection of Old Harding and Sawyer Brown Road, I saw a large bird soaring low, and had a feeling it might not be the usual vultures or even a Red-tailed Hawk. Sure enough, when I stopped at a red light, the underwing pattern and head clearly identified it as an Osprey. Only a couple tenths of a mile from my abode, I tried to get home as quickly as possible to add it to my yard list, but it disappeared upriver before I made it to my postage-stamp sized property. A nice spring sighting nevertheless. -- Frank Fekel Tennessee State University Center of Excellence in Information Systems 330 10th Avenue North Nashville, TN 37221 USA =================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBER===================== The TN-Bird Net requires you to sign your messages with first and last name, city (town) and state abbreviation. ----------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------- To post to this mailing list, simply send email to: tn-bird@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx ----------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, send email to: tn-bird-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the Subject field. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * TN-Bird Net is owned by the Tennessee Ornithological Society Neither the society(TOS) nor its moderator(s) endorse the views or opinions expressed by the members of this discussion group.
