Several good finds lately:
*** 1 Redhead ***
18 Feb 2010 (Thurs) 2:30 pm
NE Roane County
K1007-P1 Pond off Hwy 58, near entrance to East Tennessee Technology Park
*** 1 Northern Goshawk! ***
20 Feb 2010 (Sat) 11:45 am
NW Knox County
0.5 mi south of Anderson County line
Shortly after spotting the bird overhead, it gave a rapid series of 6-7 "kek"
notes.  Bird was quite pale overall from underneath, with the most notable dark
markings on the sides of face and the distal half of tail.  I observed the bird
for 1-2 min before it finally soared out of view to the northeast.
*** 4 Horned Grebes ***
21 Feb 2010 (Sun) 3:50 pm
SW Knox County
"The Cove" at Concord Park, Northshore Dr west of Pellissippi Pkwy; Fort
Loudoun Lake
Several Brown-headed Nuthatches were also present in the pines.
